We are delighted to announce the Annual Scarecrow competition will take place this year between Monday 22 and Friday 26 September
This year’s theme: The Commonwealth

Rules for making your scarecrow:
- It can be anything related to the Commonwealth including the games
- You are encouraged to use recycled materials
- You can use props or accessories as required

Where should I put my scarecrow?:
It needs to be in sight of the road during every day of the competition. You may wish to take it in at night. If you are unable to put it where it can be seen from the road you might consider asking a friend or neighbour if you could use their garden.

together with an entrance fee of £2.50 per scarecrow.
Cheques should be made payable to Woodingdean PCC.

How will I know where the scarecrows are?: A list of the roads where you can see the scarecrows will be available from Monday 8th September at Johny’s Wares,Brother’s Superstore and Maslen Estate Agents.
When the competition is finished: we would like as many scarecrows as possible to be brought to Holy Cross Church, which will be open between 3.00 – 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 – 8.00 p.m. on Friday 26th September so they can be part of our Harvest Festival service at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 28th September, to which you are all warmly invited.
Judging: will be done by Adam Trimmingham and will take place during the day at any time between 22nd and 26th September. The winner will be announced at the Harvest Festival Service at Holy Cross Church on 28th September and will be published on the church website
