Woodingdean Artist Tony Parsons Exhibits at The Grange

Well know caricaturist Tony Parsons will be exhibiting some of his latest work at The Grange in Rottingdean, East Sussex from 28 June to 17 July.

  • I am known for my caricatures and in 2011 was delighted to be the winner of the European Caricature Likeness Award. This new exhibition will show off my complete range of work which includes portraits, landscapes, seas and skies. These latest works include soldiers, Afghan Landscapes and images of children, inspired by my own young children.* The new caricatures include Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, Morgan Freeman, Rio Ferdinand and Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.

*I have been experimenting with new techniques over the past few months – using a broader brush – which encourages the eye to fill the gaps. It is interesting for me to paint pictures that reflect a mood or a atmosphere rather than the personality of the sitter. *

One of Tony's latest caricatures that is catching local attention is that of Council Leader Jason Kitkat.
