Car Theft in Woodingdean

Recently, there have been a number of car thefts from motor vehicles in Woodingdean. Most of the vehicles that have had objects stolen from them have been believed to have been unlocked. Here is what Woodingdean’s PCSO has to say about the crime:

*“There has been a spate of thefts from motor vehicles lately in areas of Woodingdean. Many of the vehicles entered have been believed to have been left unlocked.

Please could you ensure that your property is secure and pass on the message to your friends/ neighbours or others on your social media , that thieves are more than happy to take advantage of unlocked vehicles/ homes etc.

It seems clear that vehicle doors are being tried as they are passed and any that are unlocked or that appear insecure for some reason, are being targeted.

It is not unreasonable to make the next logical step that homes during warmer months when windows; doors etc are not always secure, could also be targeted.” *
