Brighton Male Voice Choir extends an invitation to join them in rehearsing a wide range of popular and classical arrangements at the Hall of the Church of the Holy Cross, Downsway, Woodingdean every Wednesday at 7.30pm.

About the Brighton Male Voice Choir

Brighton Male Voice Choir (BMVC) has performed 17 concerts over the last 12 months; one of the most notable being a prestigious engagement at St Lukes Church, Queens Park in aid of Brighton Take Heart. This charitable organisation work hard for the welfare of heart patients in all sorts of ways and their aim is to raise funds in order to provide continuous funding for their work. The Lord Major, Anne Meadows and her husband Tony attended and a considerable sum was raised for their cause. Brighton & Hove Council continue to recognise the extent of the contribution made by BMVC to the local community.

BMVC under the direction of Deryck Hanchett has worked hard at promoting these charitable events in order to arouse public awareness along with our chairman George Meeten who is always keen on approaching all media outlets including fostering an appearance by the secretary last year in BBC Sussex`s morning programme competition with another volunteer (who happened to be Richard Durrant the world renowned Guitarist.)

BMVC had also entered a competition advertised in The Argus organised by Amex and were fortunate to be one of three winners of £1000 bursary. This enabled us to purchase a superb and much needed portable piano keyboard. Amex later came to Holy Cross, Woodingdean where we rehearse each Wednesday at 7.30 pm and an article on the Amex competition follow up appeared in the Argus.
