Abseil Adventure on Peacehaven Cliffs

The Martlets sponsored abseil takes place on Sunday 28 July on Peacehaven Cliffs. No experience is needed, just a love for heights! This is the first time in three years that an Abseil has been organised on Peacehaven Cliffs, because of the engineering works being carried out by Southern Water.

The experts need to check there are no nesting birds before you can launch yourself off the 115ft high cliff. Although the cliff is high, it is a well used route with permanent bolts on it and it is open to anyone aged 8 to 80.

There will be loads of experienced instructors there to help you out and make sure the abseil is an enjoyable experience and all equipment will be provided.

The event organiser, Clem Hunnisett said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this fundraising challenge. We have never offered an abseil before and although it is a physical event, it is open to all ages, so potentially it is something that people could sign up for as a family. We also have a lot of teenagers who want to raise money for us so we hope this will be something that will appeal to them.”

It costs £20 to register for the event and the Martlets are asking everyone who takes part to raise a minimum of £100 is sponsorship.
