Grinstock comedy club started in East Grinstead over 7 years ago. It\u2019s a monthly award winning comedy club that has built a reputation for headlining some of the best new comedy acts around. alongside award winning national and tv circuit comedians\u00a0On\u00a0 13th<\/sup> April 2017 Grinstock is\u00a0made\u00a0its first appearance on the South Coast, at the Gateway Caf\u00e9 Peacehaven. From 9th November 2017 for 8 Thursdays Grinstock will be running a season of stand up-comedy shows at the same venue. 7.15pm doors open – 8pm the stand up show begins. Oliver Tully is not a comedian (though spending time with him is certainly filled with fun) but has spent most of his working life running events, festivals and organising tours for bands, artists and orchestras.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u2018I have run events all over the world \u2013 from large festivals with British DJ\u2019s on the ski slopes of\u00a0California and the night clubs of world famous Caesars Palace Casino chain\u00a0 to putting on nights for the Ministry of Sound and Review nights for up and coming comedians.<\/p>\n

Grinstock is one of the longest running independent comedy clubs outside London and we have pretty much played to packed out audiences every month since we opened our doors. We have some incredible (and very funny) young\/new comedians performing and our audiences have come to expect good quality lineups mixed with exceptional new talent alongside established and experienced \u00a0professionals. The tough thing for any independent comedy club\u00a0is that we are an excellent stepping stone for many acts but once they hit the high life it becomes very hard to\u00a0book them again\u2026 Live at the Apollo seems to be the turning point <\/strong>for a lot of the acts. It\u2019s an excellent opportunity for them but for us,\u00a0 once I see an act on there I know that we need to find some new talent! Luckily the enthusiasm for live comedy means there are constantly new and exciting acts waiting for an opportunity to shine.\u2019<\/p>\n

Olivers company is also one of the now one of the UK\u2019s largest independent suppliers of cinema drive-ins. \u2018We have been running outside cinema events for over 4 years and\u00a0 http:\/\/cinestock.co.uk\/<\/a> have put on some incredible evenings all over the South East.\u2019 Last year they ran two films in conjunction with the Bluebell railway. \u2018It was a fantastic partnership and unique experience for film and steam buffs. We played the children\u2019s classic The Railway Children\u2019 which was filmed on the Bluebell railway \u2013 it was a really great occasion.<\/p>\n

Hopefully 2017 will see drive-ins in Peacehaven and perhaps even Woodingdean (keep your eyes on Woodingdean in Business<\/a> for further updates).<\/p>\n

\u2018We mainly play U and 15 films and drive ins are a fantastic family event \u2013last year our films included \u2018A Bugs life, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean a number of 80\u2019s classics including one of my favourites \u2018Stand by Me\u2019.
